For sure I’m not the only one who noticed how bad the global economy already is. With the pandemic pulling on, it seems that the world is going downhill. That is why, more and more students who graduated in secondary education, decide to pursue a diploma study and that is also the case in Malaysia. That is right considering if you will choose a diploma study instead of our foundation or a degree you only need to spend two to three years and you can already start working which be.
But then again, if it is really your dream be a degree holder someday, then you can just choose any of those preliminary courses like medicine, law, education and so on. A diploma study after all, is also apt for those who want to be a degree holder but at the moment, cannot support their dreams. When you’re looking for a government university in Malaysia, make sure to choose the one that suits you.

As mentioned above, there are SPM holders who opt for a diploma course and the following are their most common reasons:
- This gives them a chance to start working early. For those who are not digging more about the companies seeking for workers, as they are not interested in this aspect, there are actually more industries that are looking to hire skilled workers or diploma graduates. Yes, in every company, there are skilled workers behind the scene who are responsible for the great outputs. Most of the time though, when you visit an office or a company, you will only see those degree holders who are assigned to do the paper works. They might be better earners, but it is the skilled workers who make the company roll.
- There are no complicated requirements as well as processes. You see, being in the secondary level can be struggling as it is at this time when you will be faced with so many temptations from different aspects. Thus, there are students who have made a mess with their grades and cannot be admitted in a university of a foundation. If you happen to be one of them, there is no need to be disheartened as you can still avoid from just staying in your home and be subjected to all the house chores. Yes, you can still get a diploma study even if you don’t really plan to just settle in this level. When you will have the diploma, that is the time for you to decide if you will start to earn or continue for a degree.
- You can apply for a student loan in which in Malaysia, they have the PTPTN loan. With the economy struggling these days, there is a good chance your parents might not be able to send you to school or they will have a hard time doing so. But that can’t still stop you from continuing your college as you will be eligible for the PTPTN loan. Most of the time, foundation courses cannot apply for this type of loan.
